This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I have finally found some kind of inspiration! How long it will last is anyone's guess! I went to the Dulwich Picture gallery last week, and it was lovely, some really great paintings, and a lot but one guy i really like. David Teniers the younger. He painted peasants.
Anyway .. working on some new ideas now! which is good.
Hey there, long time no see .. i've been a bit rubbish with deviantart since college, and haven't done much work. I've been living in London working at DK since July, which is great, very different to Cornwall! Its good though
Hows you? are you getting lots of illustration work yet?? you've dont lots and lots of work on here .. i'm in awe!
I've got an agent now... they've got me one £500 job so far , but I still haven't hit the big time.
I'm doing a few minor projects for friends, relatives and *cough* ex-boyfriends and getting some income that way, but i'm trying to look for some other full-time jobs other than waitressing part-time, which i've been doing for almost a year now. Pay is good when tips are good, but i'm not a people person and i'm tired of smiling. DX I'm currently applying for a graphic design job in a school of all places, lol. ^^ *fingers crossed!*
Yeah Dorling Kindersley, ... its not a bad first job, I'm a design assistant. The work is fun, its a mix of paper engineering, Layout stuff, and some background computer-indesign background illustration things .... which is the nearest to illustration i've got since college :S
I'm thinking of getting me an agent, my contract ends in june, and I dont want to stay in London forever. I'd like to be able to draw stuff again. What agency are you with? are they any good? I've been looking at a few, but i've not had the time to get me arse in gear and contact any of them.
I dont envy the waitress job, i did it for a while and spilled peoples dinner over them ... i wasn't very good at it! The graphic design thing sounds good though? is it a teaching thing?
Nah, it wasn't teaching but I turned down the interview anyway cos i've decided to move to Oxford in the next couple of months... i'm gonna try and find a job once i'm there which is a slightly worrying thought, but i've saved up quite a bit of money from the waitressing and illo so hopefully i'll find one in time.
My agent is Sylvie Poggio ( [link] ) and I think you'd fit in there. They've only found me one job so far, but it was well paid for what it was (£400 for a 10x15cm image) and they don't do editorials so you're welcome to look for them yourself. I've heard stories from people in my year who've had a worse time with other agents so i'd say they're pretty good. I've got my own contacts as well though and tend to get jobs through them which also helps... maybe if you wanted to be a full time illustrator then getting a place at an agency who looks after less people may be a better idea as they can focus on you more. I almost got represented by David Higham agency too, so you could try them perhaps? They're quite small. Also, if you're willing to do it, Phoenix Cards is a card company that pays £400 per card design, which is more than the vast majority of card companies out there. The only problem is that they're quite particular about what they want. None of the designs i've sent off were chosen.
Seriously beautiful stuff.
Quit hogging all the art skill, dammit XD
